Video on Proforestation
The film examines the many reasons we need to protect all existing old growth forests, and restore forest through proferestation.
A new film, Proforestation: Letting Forests Grow Old, features outstanding beauty and argues for protecting our old growth forests and allowing pro-forestation to increase lands under natural conditions. The video features William Moonmaw, Susan Masino and George Wuerthner. The film discusses the value of forests for watersheds, carbon storage and ecosystem function. Issues covered include wildfire policies, logging impacts, and why we need to preserve at least half of the planet’s natural spaces.

which describes the concept of proforestation, ie, that allowing as much forest as possible to be managed by Nature, rather than being manipulated by humans, is the easiest and best policy to maintain a stable environment and climate.
The film features scenes of some of New England’s finest remaining old-growth forests, and several scientists will explain the significance of proforestation.
